Our Rabies Policy
All Creatures Great and Small Animal Hospital requires all patients be current on their rabies vaccination.
According to the South Carolina Rabies Control Act, SECTION 47-5-60, pet owners are required to have their pets, “[…]inoculated against rabies at a frequency to provide continuous protection of the pet from rabies using a vaccine approved by the department and licensed by the United States Department of Agriculture” (South Carolina Code of Laws).
All Creatures Great and Small Animal Hospital requires all patients be current on their rabies vaccination. If the vaccine status is not current or proof of current vaccine status is not provided, the attending DVM will vaccinate to keep pet in accordance with state law and to maintain the health and safety of the staff and the hospital.
Note: For pets that are deemed unwell or immune-compromised, it is at the medical discretion of our staff veterinarians to withhold vaccination until pet is deemed well enough to receive the rabies vaccine.
